Update on ongoing work in Haiti.

Dear Friends of CFM,

It’s been a while since we updated you on some of the ongoing work in Haiti.

We still cover your prayers for the Lord to bring peace to this country.
The political instability is such that at present we cannot travel there out of safety concerns. For now, we are doing what we can thru our CFM Haitian Team on the ground.

A part of our work is building modest houses in partnership with Blocks For Haiti. Shelter is one of the most basic needs in life, but most Haitians will never be able to afford it. Instead, they live in makeshift shelters made out of anything they can find.

Our sturdy and storm-resistant structures provide a permanent place to retreat from the elements and provide safety for an extremely poor family that would never be able to acquire a home on their own. We share the gospel with them and tell them how their home was a gift from God and an answer to their prayers.

The ground team makes & delivers the cement blocks, builds a foundation, pours the floor, assembles the block, and then puts a simple frame truss roof and tin on them. Installing secure doors and windows gives families peace and security at night.

While we prefer to take work teams down to assist with construction and to experience Haiti and its people... the benefit of hiring Haitians to build instead of using American volunteers provides the workers and their families with more work & desperately needed income.

See pics of the latest homes during construction built entirely by our Haitian brothers and Sisters.
